A Makeover - Banana Republic Style

Dress for Success Vancouver has been lucky enough to be chosen by the Banana Republic stores in the Lower Mainland to be their charity of choice for the year. What does that mean? Well it means that we have over 20 of their staff now volunteering with us regularly, new fancy mannequins to show off our clothing, and a store wide make over!

Over the course of 2 evenings, the merchandizing teams at Banana Republic transformed the shop. Displays were updated, racks adjusted, and furniture was moved about.  The result? Cleared walkways (goodbye clutter!), inspirational displays and better use of space!

We are delighted to have this hardworking team of volunteers helping us and look forward to see what else they have in store!

Miss Representation screening raises $5000 for Dress for Success Vancouver

In early June, Dress for Success board member, Sandra Wear from Planning for Exit, hosted a fundraiser and private screening of acclaimed documentary "Miss Representation".  The documentary explores the media's misrepresentations of women and how it has lead to the under representation of women in positions of power and influence.

All proceeds from the screening were donated to Dress for Success Vancouver and Big Sisters of BC Lower Mainland with each charity receiving a whopping $5000 each!

Thank you so much, Sandra, for making this happen!
